A Historical Bed and Breakfast on Monterey Bay

The Martine Inn is a living museum-quality boutique hotel near Carmel, CA created by Don Martine. In 1972, Don purchased the Parkes mansion that was scheduled for demolition. He conducted a $1,000,000 restoration of the property that included replacing all plumbing, wiring and heating. The Martine Inn is furnished with authentic period antiques ranging from 1800 to 1920. During their stay, guests truly can experience the way life was lived as a wealthy person 120 years ago.

Don Martine has been interested in MGs since his dad purchased a 1949 MGTC in 1950. Don worked on the car and drove this MG during his high school years. Since those early years, he has accumulated, restored, raced, and displays several models of vintage MGs. Five to eight vintage vehicles are regularly onsite at the Martine Inn for guests’ viewing, including car memorabilia such as old gas pumps, posters, accessories, car equipment and original auto paintings.

A stay at the Martine Inn is not just a place to spend your day and evening, but also a visually memorable experience steeped in unique history at this Pacific Grove, California hotel.
