Come and See My Car Collection

My dad bought a 1949 MG TC in 1950 and I was able to drive it occasionally during high school.  I still have that car.  My dad and I went to the first Pebble Beach Road Race and saw Johnnie Von Neumann in a 1950 MG TD Special. I have that car on display at the Martine Inn.  A friend of mine was a pilot with TWA many years ago and flew freight between New Zealand and San Francisco.  One day, while in NZ, he spotted a 1949 MG Y sedan. He had become so facinated with the car that he purchased it and loaded it onto his plane, flew it to San Francisco, then drove it  home to Carmel Highlands.  I have that car on display at the Martine Inn.  A parts store owner in Monterey had a partner who was going broke and needed to sell his 1953 MG TD Mark II (the factory race car prepared car)...that car is on display at the Martine Inn.  I had always wanted a 1936 MG NB and had purchased a restoration project when an NB with a wonderful race history became available.  I sold the resoration project and restored Lars Jacobsen's racing NB, instead.  That car is on display at the Martine Inn.  It is a fabulous, very rare car and will be here only until August, when it will be sold at the Bonham's Auction during Concours week at the Quail.  About 15 years ago,  I was told about a racing MG Special.  I went to see it. Jack Anderson, the owner, also had a 1955 MG TF 1500 which he had modified into a pickup to hold his wheel chair.  That car is on display at the Martine Inn, when I'm not driving it to town.  These vintage MG's are some of the cars I'd like to show you during your stay at the Inn; all just a part of my collection of a lifetime.
