Welcome to the Fountain Room – So named for the view of the Komodo-Dragon Fountain trickling in the courtyard below, this second-level room has dark burgundy wall coverings, curtains with a lace privacy liner and lovely wooden shell carved headboard and armoire that complements the light flowing through its side and courtyard windows. It has a queen-size pillow-top bed and step-in shower in the bathroom.

Welcome to the McClatchy Room – Named after C.K. McClatchy, the founder of the Sacramento Bee, Modesto Fresno Bee and McClatchy News Service. The pillow-top queen-size bedroom set was custom made for Mr. McClatchy in the early 1870s. This room has a step-in shower.

Welcome to the Pineapple Room – The symbol of hospitality ‘the pineapple’ is the theme of this thus decorated pillow-top queen-size bed room on the second level. It is rumored that if the pineapple finials on the bed were removed during your stay, the host was telling you that you had over-stayed your welcome. This room has an inviting claw-foot tub in the bathroom.

Welcome to the California Room -A light and airy second-level room that looks down into the garden courtyard and continues to delight guests with its blend of openness and stylish comfort. The California room was the bedroom of the groundskeeper, who originally managed the estate at the turn of the 20th century and was the nephew of Mr. Parke. It is the only room in the four-building complex with open rafters and a high-beamed ceiling. This room has a queen-size pillow-top bed and step-in shower.

Welcome to the Monterey Room – Once the maid’s bedroom, and still remaining from its historic beginnings is the impressive rough-plastered archway that once led to the outside. This ground-level intimate space includes a queen-size pillow-top bed and is the only Inn room to have a unique walk-in shower in the corner of the main room instead of inside its bathroom.

Welcome to the Jenny Lind Room -This ground-level room was once the kitchen and dining room for the maid’s quarters. A popular guest room on the main floor of the Main House named after the world-famous coloratura-Jenny Lind- who toured and was introduced around the world by P.T. Barnum. This famous operatic singer’s bust is intricately carved on each of the room’s furnishings. It has a queen-size pillow-top bed and claw-foot tub in the bathroom.

Welcome to the Walnut Room -This charming garden and courtyard-facing room was an open area under the Parkes’ nephew’s bedroom, which was on poles. With smaller scale furnishings, a pillow-top queen-size bed, step-in shower, 3 French doors with lace privacy curtains, this small ground-level room feels cozily comfortable and is a favorite of guests who love the garden views, listening to the fountain trickling and prefer an easy access to the Courtyard.
